Windation

The growing concern for environments and the rising demand to conserve the fossil fuel for posterity has made countries to look for alternative sources of energy. In this connection, wind energy has come to forefront and is being increasingly looked upon as the major source of power. The good thing is wind is available all around the world and hence, it is one of the cheapest sources of energy.

The process of converting wind energy into other forms of energy is known as wind power. This is achieved through the wind turbines, wind mills, wind pumps or sails, and the energy, thus formed, is used in the form of electricity or any other mechanical power.

Using wind as an alternative form of energy, especially to fossil fuel, has great benefits. Apart from being available everywhere, it produces no harmful by-products. You also do not need a large area to harness it.

Wind turbines

It is true that the amount of electricity produced by the turbines is also dependent upon the availability of good source of wind. But with the advent of technology, the turbines these days have become smaller and more powerful. While the ones used for home or farming produce one to two Kilowatt of power, the large turbines installed off-shores can produce 7 megawatt of energy. The cost of installing a 2 Megawatt turbine is around two to five millions in the U.S.

With wind power catering to a substantial part of world’s energy requirements, installation of turbines have grown by leaps and bounds in the last decade. The greatest growth in this power sector has been witnessed in China. According to some estimates, the installed capacity of wind turbines is around 200,000 MW in the world.

Catering to this growing demand, many companies work in the field of wind power. Windation is one of the companies that manufacture and install wind turbines.
